The Health and Safety Coordinator provides functional leadership in the development, maintenance and coordination of the plant health and safety program. The position has ongoing responsibilities to assess plant safety performance and where appropriate develop and implement plans to improve safety performance.
Requirements:A thorough knowledge of all related health and safety legislation including the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Industrial Regulation. Possession of a professional safety designation (CSSE, CHSC, CRSP) is an asset.Post secondary education in a technical discipline or equivalent in education and experience.Demonstrated commitment to the promotion of a safe working environment in an industrial setting. Demonstrated strong verbal and written communications skills with the ability to communicate across functional lines and at all levels in the plant organization.Strong planning and time management skills; ability to effectively handle a variety of assignments simultaneously. Location: Ottawa and area, Ontario
