To succeed in this role the Administrative Assistant is preferred to have a diploma or certificate in administrative support and a minimum of two years experience in an administrative role. You also must possess intermediate word and excel skills. The critical skills are the ability to take minutes and arrange meetings. You must also have excellent oral and written communication skills. The ability to deal with shifting priorities and meet deadlines, strong organizational skills, high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, the ability to work independently under minimal supervision, ability to establish effective working relationships and provide excellent client service. Our client in downtown Edmonton is looking for a contract to hire Administrative Assistant . The successful Administrative Assistant will be providing day-to-day secretarial support, including scheduling and travel arrangements, handling routine correspondence and materials, including composing, keying, addressing, making copies for files,maintaining both electronic and paper files for the respective programs and services, maintaining and updating relevant contact and distribution lists, making arrangements for meetings, record, transcribe and format minutes for committees meetings, preparing and distributing agenda packages, minutes and resource documents. Research and prepare standard reports; liaise with other staff as required. The successful Administrative Assistant, under the direction of the Manager, Finance and Human Resources, will assist in bookkeeping responsibilities. You will be responsible to act as back-up to the other members of the administration team and back up reception, mail, photocopying, faxing, shipping and distribution of materials to key contacts, committee members and member libraries,ordering office supplies and ensuring a sufficient inventory is in place.,ensure the common area office space and storage areas are neat and organized.
