Our client is a leading provider of equipment products, systems and services to worldwide oil, gas and process industries. They are currently looking for a Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager to join their team.
Job Description:
- Manage the corporate and divisional systems, programs and processes, to attain/maintain occupational and workplace quality, health, safety, security and environmental stewardship, by ensuring compliance to federal, provincial, regional regulatory agencies, Company policies
- Ensuring HS&E compliance to legislation, and maintains current records
- Implement and maintain a HS&E Management System, ensure compliance throughout operations, develops HSE representatives, coordinates with management, HSE representatives, and divisional HSE, and Canadian policies and programs coordinated with divisional representatives
- Coordinates and prepares operations for audits, maintains Certificate of Recognition for operations through successful internal and external audits, and implements and educates on new programs, conducts applicable audits, inspections
- Point person for accident, incident, property damage investigations regulatory agency contact, supports/advises management on investigation, remediation, and action items, ensures documentation completion, and acts as alternate for accident investigation
- Environmental stewardship, current on applicable legislation, assesses and advises on environmental/waste streams for facilities/operations, performs/coordinates Phase inspections of company or prospective company sites, and company contact for waste management policies and practices
- Monitors security of facilities, educates on security policy and procedures, identifies security risks, and company representative for security audits
- Arranges, coordinates, conducts training for policies and processes, provides information for toolbox topics & presentations, prepares, communicates, distributes HSE alerts, and guides employees on HSE
- Prepares HSE capital and expense budgets including information presentation, and coordinates information on cases with HR
Required Skills:
- Post secondary graduate: Business, Commerce, or relevant discipline
- Minimum 3 years experience in a progressively more responsible management role
- Minimum 5 years in an HSE leadership role
- Sound understanding of manufacturing and oilfield operations
- Occupational Health & Safety Certification (OH&S)
- Current tickets: First Aid, H2S, valid clean drivers license, WHMIS
- Desired: Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP)
- Attainment of COR auditor certification desired
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications
- Team contributor and results focused
- Detail orientated and takes initiative
- Dependable, adaptable and flexible
- Ability to instruct/mentor employees
- Desired: Experience with SAP
- Extended travel to Company locations
