BEA Weblogic Administrator - Financial Applications

Job Informations: CGI's Banking & Investment Business Unit currently has an opening for Full time BEA WebLogic Administrator. This position is within the Portfolio Management Service department working with MSuite or products and the clients that use them. This suite currently includes MPower, MVest, StarSource, MFolio and MView.
Position Overview:
- The position will involve a variety of consulting, delivery/implementation, and deep technical support activities
- Successful candidate will work on a team of development experts who are responsible for the development and support of the MSuite line of portfolio products
- The incumbent will also be expected to work on several customer projects concurrently.
Responsibilities:
- Will provide deep level support for various Middleware technologies
- Work with the development/deployment group to implement new customer applications
- Develop standards, processes, and procedures related to Web platform and application security, upgrade management, capacity planning, application deployment, failover and disaster recovery.
- Provide application deployment support.
- Provide functionality testing for new releases
- Act as the focal point and custodian of Web related software
- Establish new support procedures
- Receive and act on software alerts
- Manage release to production of software source file code
- Prepare and maintain software support procedures
- Implement day to day software changes and provide 7/24 on call pager escalation support
- Stay abreast of market trends and retain client loyalty by providing the best service experience in the industry
- Consults with management and end-users to discuss system capacity, equipment acquisitions and security requirements
- Provides project support as required.
- Provides guidance and resources for other members of the applications team.
Must Have:
- Minimum 4 years with Bea WebLogic 8.1 or higher in a Wintel environment
- Minimum of 4 years with J2EE
- Post Secondary degree/diploma in Information Technology or similar field of studies
- In-depth experience in deep level support, administration, and performance tuning of Middleware software:
- Good understanding of the other technical aspects of high-availability environments including network, clustering, security and database technologies/concepts
- Strong understanding of IT Service Management (ITIL) best practices and processes
- Strong oral and written communication skills, ability to multi-task on several projects at one-time
- Ability to effectively communication clearly and concisely with people on all levels in the organization
- Ability to work with a minimum of direct supervision or guidance from others
- Demonstrated ability to effectively and creatively solve problems
