REPORTING TO: Procurement Manager - Technical Support & Warranty Recovery
STATUS: Permanent Full time position
LOCATION: Montreal
Job summary:
The position is responsible for providing technical support to Procurement, primarily to the Purchased Repair Services (OV) team. The function includes, but is not limited to:
Provide technical support to Procurement as part of the OV teams mandate of same-day flow of material and on-time delivery;
Complete same-day quotation review/approval process for purchased repair services, targeting and challenging workscopes to ensure cost reduction/containment;
Track and ensure all costs or free-of-charge related to ADs, SBs Mods and retrofit campaigns to ensure adherance;
Meet allotted cost reduction target;
Participate in and/or lead Phase In/Phase Out and New Product Introduction activities for identified supply sources to ensure operational readiness;
Interact with Air Worthiness/Quality organization as required to ensure quality processes within the team and quality part/service delivery by suppliers;
Support Procurement Contracting with technical knowledge as required during or after contract negotiations;
Participate in and/or lead supplier site visits when requiring technical oversight/input;
Participate in benchmarking processes and process optimization activities;
Participate in and/or lead the development of robust, systemic and repeatable processes that provide both efficiency and effectiveness;
Work closely with internal customers and Procurement team to develop/deploy creative solutions to issues and ensure the execution thereof;
Prepare reports, spreadsheets and presentations for management review of the business and other reporting requirements as needed including customer-centric reviews; and
Adhere to relevant policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
3 to 7 years procurement and/or operations and/or relevant technical experience
Technical skills (Engineering degree, Mechanic or equivalent)
Results focused, creative solution maker
Strong English communication skills, verbal and written
Strong customer oriented attitude
Ability to work with and interact with many functional groups
Fluent with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications:
Aerospace experience;
Travel: Minimal; may include international travel; possible short notice
