What are the responsibilities of the job?
Managing and directing subordinates in a fast pace environment
Maintaining materials records in a organized and confidential manner
To mentor and give guidance to employees to achieve the overall goals and departmental objectives
Ensure safety standards are met at all times
Communicate the goals set out by management and achieve them
Manage employees, purchasing, and material handling to ensure productivity, efficiency and safety
Ensure on time delivery to internal and external customers
Oversees and maintain inventory levels to meet targets as set by management
Coordinate with other departments to make sure physical inventory counts are effective and accurate
Communicate department procedures to personnel to ensure compliance with quality systems requirements
Train, mentor, or coordinate training of employees within the department
Excellent time management skills
Ensure that the purchasing department personnel are effectively communicating to suppliers to achieve on time delivery
Continuous improvement, productivity, quality, customer service, cost reduction, safety and housekeeping
Administrative work--using company software, report writing and making work orders
Qualifications
What are we looking for?
8 years of job related experience working in purchasing/scheduling/logistics/supervisor
Previous automotive manufacturing experience
Ability to lead by example
Excellent mathematical, organizational and communication skills
Reliable and self motivated
Strong Computer skills is required (excel spread sheet, word, MS Project etc)
Previous experience training and motivating employees
Knowledge of CMS, or AS 400 is an asset
Must Provide a minimum of 2 supervisory references
