Microsoft Game Studios? Halo team is looking for a Producer to help develop a new game in the Halo universe. Work on one of the most exciting and creative intellectual properties in the industry; we are gathering an incredible team to help drive the future of Halo.
As Producer, you are core to the culture and productivity of the development team. The ideal candidate will be able to gracefully balance schedule needs with creative imperatives; push for quality and innovation while managing both budget and time. Executing on a game?s vision takes many traits, but above all stand teamwork, leadership and a dedication to excellence. Coordinating the efforts of a large development team is a big responsibility; the Producer needs to be both focused and agile in navigating the complexities of the game development cycle.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Producer on the MGS Halo team, you will work directly with the Executive Producer and team leads to establish and maintain the game?s vision, scope, schedule, budget, and resource plan.
Ensure that the project is hitting its quality and ?fun? goals while actively managing the schedule and milestone deliverables.
Manage day-to-day development issues; identify problems in advance and drive creative solutions to fix them.
Facilitate communication across the project team; clearly communicate tasks and responsibilities to staff. Work with leads to update and maintain project schedule.
Identify and remove roadblocks that prevent the team from performing to their highest potential.
Coordinate and lead efforts across a large ?virtual? cross-functional team including groups as diverse as: Test, Marketing, User Research, Localization, Business Development, Licensing, Legal, and more.
Provide regular status to the various MGS teams, including conducting internal reviews with leads and MGS Management.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
Experience shipping games. You have experience shipping AAA current generation games through a minimum of two product cycles.
Strong Cross-Team Communication Skills. You can talk to creatives (eg artists and game designers), technical people (eg programmers), and non-technical people (eg PR and Marketing) alike. When conflicts occur, you bring people together, you listen, you mitigate, and you resolve.
Deals with Ambiguity. There is no instruction manual on how to be a great games Producer. You use your instincts, experiences, and team to identify, assess, and solve problems quickly and frequently.
Exceptional Organization Skills. You are detailed and organized. You never let anything fall through the cracks. You are clear, concise, and specific. When you participate in a meeting, you clarify, capture and follow up on all action items.
Passion for and Knowledge of Games. The first requirement is to love video games. The second is to understand what makes a great video game. Required Skills:
